About the Event

Caritas Uganda, together with the 19 Caritas Dioceses in Uganda, gathered in Nebbi diocese to celebrate the 14th Caritas Week celebrations. This is an event that was initiated by His Grace Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga, a former Caritas President of Africa and Uganda, in 2010. He got the inspiration from the Caritas Internationalis assembly, which takes place every four years.

During Caritas Week 2024, under the theme “Caritas Regenerating Africa through Prayer and Work””, the
19 dioceses prayed and shared the love of God and experiences from the different implementation areas. Pertinent issues affecting agricultural production and marketing for smallholder farmers in Nebbi region were discussed with experts from the District Production and Market Office-Zombo district, the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives.
